SF Atom players Rhys Widdison and Adam Hustins with Ottawa Sens

SF Atom house players Rhys Widdison and Adam Hustins earned their way to participate side by side with the Ottawa Senators in the Sens Skills Competition on Dec 30. Congratulations boys!!
On the 30th December 2014 two of very our own Smiths Falls Minor Hockey Atom Bears, Rhys Widdison and Adam Hustins were amongst 14 minor hockey players who participated alongside the Ottawa Senators in their annual Sen’s Skills competition.
To get there was no easy task, both Rhys and Adam competed in the Senators Junior Skills Challenge against 800+ Atom and Peewee aged players from the National Capital Region. Competitors had to demonstrate their prowess in 4 different hockey skill tests including the Agility Skate, Obstacle Course, Speed Skate, and Target Shoot. After participating in Regional Finals and a Grand Finale, Rhys and Adam demonstrated they had what it takes and with 12 other minor hockey players, earned the right to skate alongside the Ottawa Senators during their Sen’s Skills Competition.
You could not wipe the smiles of Rhys and Adam’s faces as they were introduced for their respective teams with Rhys Widdison in Team Black - Chris Phillips and Adam Hustins in Team Red - Erik Karlsson. It was a truly memorable afternoon with over 10000+ fans cheering not only the Ottawa Senators but also for Rhys and Adam as they participated in their respective events. At the end of the proceedings, Team Black – Chris Phillips took the spoils of victory (15) over Team Red – Erik Karlsson (14). Congratulations to our Smiths Falls boys and to all who participated in this event, it is truly a tremendous accomplishment.
